Time We Discuss: Become a Visualization Coach

Watch/Listen to this Episode Become a Visualization Coach Well ... got vision?; Host of Time We Discuss is pointing to a picture of guest Steve Gamlin.

In this segment of Time We Discuss, we have an interview with Steve Gamlin, a keynote speaker, author, coach, and creator of the Vision Board Mastery program. Steve shares insights into his journey with visualization, his unique approach to vision boards, and how his personal experiences shaped his coaching methods.

Steve's interest in visualization began about 20 years ago when he was rebuilding his life after a difficult period. He discovered the concept of visualization through the DVD The Secret by John Assaraf, which inspired him to research and delve deeper into the practice. He noticed that many people created vision boards focusing solely on materialistic goals, like luxurious cars or mansions, which often didn't lead to long-term happiness or fulfillment.

To address this, Steve developed a more comprehensive approach using a tool called the "life wheel," which encompasses eight areas of life: physical health, emotional well-being, relationships, core values, faith and spirituality, connection with others, work, and finances. By setting goals in these interconnected areas, Steve was able to rebuild his life holistically, realizing that focusing on one area positively influenced others as well.

Steve's Vision Board Mastery program is structured to guide individuals through an in-depth visualization process. Unlike typical vision board workshops, where participants quickly gather images and assemble their boards, Steve's program involves significant preliminary work. The first six modules focus on internal reflection and goal setting, ensuring participants understand their current situation, desired future, and the importance of having a strong "why" behind their goals. It's only in module seven that participants begin collecting images for their vision boards.

The program emphasizes the integration of various life aspects, promoting a balanced approach to personal development. This method stems from Steve's own experiences of burnout and the realization that overcommitting can lead to a loss of passion for one's work. He believes in maintaining a healthy number of clients and engagements to preserve his enthusiasm and effectiveness as a coach.

Steve also offers free resources, such as the "Visualize in Five" video on his website, which provides a basic understanding of visualization techniques. This video aims to help individuals grasp the foundational concepts of visualization, making the benefits accessible to a wider audience.

Throughout the conversation, Steve highlights the transformative power of visualization when done thoughtfully and comprehensively. His Vision Board Mastery program reflects his commitment to helping others achieve a balanced and fulfilling life by aligning their goals with their core values and overall well-being.
